It represents the unknown, its exciting, you get to contribute to scientific advancement and the best bit of all you get the chance to wear a funny suit and bounce around on the moon Today, the world celebrates the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. On 20 July 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin successfully landed Apollo 11 on the moon and stepped out where no human being had gone before.
